In part 2 of the Pre primary series we look at what to teach the pre-primary child that is in keeping with his/her nature, and that is in tune with his/her needs. Brain readiness must be respected. Use the strengths of spoken language readiness, and cut back on reading and writing which are prematurely taught in tasks that are repetitive, boring and wasteful.

The child has 300 hours a year in school and 1000+ at home. We must make sure there is a healthy partnership between the home and school in sharing the child's time and learning to ensure that he/she gets the whole time and variety of activities he/she deserves.
