US Census creates 1000 temporary jobs in Tennessee
http://www.EmploymentCrossing.com <br /><br />The soon-to-be-opened US Census Bureau office in Knoxville, Tennessee will create approximately 1,000 jobs for the region, which is experiencing its highest unemployment rate in 20 years. <br /><br />The jobs start in late February with an hourly wage from $9.75 to $15.75. <br /><br />The Bureau's Tony Jones told reporters that "most of the jobs are either part time, or they're temporary full time jobs." <br /><br />Jones says "what they will do is go out into their local communities and really get us a good master list of every address in their community." <br /><br />The United States Census is a decennial census mandated by the United States Constitution. The population is enumerated every 10 years, and the results are used to allocate Congressional seats, electoral votes and government program funding.
