Biography Of R. P. Singh Rudra Pratap Singh In Hindi ( Indian Cricketer)-
Rudra Pratap Singh, better known as RP Singh is an Indian cricket player who was born in Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh on 6 December, 1985.
He is a dual handed cricketer who uses his right hand for batting but his left one for bowling. Primarily, he is a medium fast bowler for his team.
Background
RP Singh went to Guru Gobind Singh Sports College, Lucknow from where he found his way into the Ranji team of Uttar Pradesh in 2003. He was later picked up for the 2004 U-19 World Cup in Bangladesh where he took 8 wickets in total.
After the tournament, he had a nice Ranji Season with 34 wickets which took him to international cricket.
Debut
RP Singh played his first ODI match in September, 2005 against Zimbabwe in the 2005 Triangular Series. His performance in the debut match involved a two wicket in his first spell.
His Test debut came a year later in 2006 against Pakistan, where in he picked up four wickets in the first innings and one in the second. He won the Man of the Match award for his spell.
Singh was a member of the 2007 World T20 winning Indian team, wherein he also made his T20 debut against Scotland in Durban.
Rise to Glory
It was in late 2006 that RP Singh received international recognition after taking 4 wickets against Sri Lanka in his 3rd match. He was also awarded the Man of the Match for that game.
He emerged as the highest wicket taker in the 2007 World T20, helping India to win the title.
Low Points
RP Singh was a talented player but he struggled for consistency every now and then after the 2007 ICC Cricket World Cup. He failed to take a wicket in the 2006 ICC Champions Trophy and again repeated a wicket less series against South Africa in 2008.
This was followed by a hamstring injury which put him out of action thereafter. When he was recalled for test match in 2011, he failed to get a wicket and that was his last appearance for the national team.
Club Career
RP Singh played a major part in the title winning run for Deccan Chargers in the 2009 Indian Premier League. He took away the Purple Cap by taking 23 wickets but failed to repeat similar performances in future.
He changed sides with Kochi Tuskers Kerala in 2011 but inconsistencies proved to be dangerous for his career. He switched his Ranji Team to Gujarat in 2015 but no impressive match performance has been seen so far.In September 2018, he announced his retirement from all forms of cricket.
