Sam Smith wrote his James Bond theme in 20 minutes; plus the latest on Amy Poehler and Oscar buzz
Did you hear that Sam Smith is singing the theme song to "Spectre," the next James Bond movie?<br />The Grammy winner later told the BBC how he got the gig: "I got called into the office with (producer) Barbara Broccoli and (director) Sam Mendes and they gave me the script.<br />... They said, 'Have a go at the song.'<br />It's the quickest I've ever written a song - it took 20 minutes ... and they loved it!"<br />Smith co-wrote the track, called "Writing's on the Wall," with Jimmy Napes, his partner on "Stay With Me" and other hits.<br />He recorded it back in January at Abbey Road, where Adele recorded the Oscar-winning "Skyfall" theme.<br />The song will be released Sept. 25.<br />The movie comes out Nov. 6.
