Notre Dame Football Coaching Hires
Jamie and Greg bring another episode of Hit and Hustle to you, talking about Notre Dame football’s recent coaching hires. It was supposed to be a relatively quiet off-season on the Irish staff front, with only one assistant coach following Brian Kelly to LSU after his shocking departure to LSU. That has given way to something closer to a massive overhaul, with the need to replace every offensive assistant outside of Tommy Rees, and a new defensive line coach when Mike Elston left for Michigan. In all, Freeman will have had to make seven hires to fill out his coaching roster.
In the last couple of days, Freeman made two moves adding to his assistant coaching staff; hiring Deland McCullough from Indiana to coach the running backs in place of Lance Taylor, and Gerad Parker from West Virginia to coach tight ends, replacing John McNulty.
How do Jamie and Greg evaluate the losses of Taylor and McNulty and what are their thoughts on the replacements? Are they concerned about the sudden departure of coaches and the big staff turnover required? Tune in to find out.
