India Maharajas won the toss and elected to bowl first. The World Giants managed to score a massive total on the board. Herschelle Gibbs was the star with the bat by scoring a terrific 89 from just 46 balls. Phil Mustard’s half-century and Kevin O Brien’s quick 34 runs boosted the World Giants to a total of 228 runs. For India Maharajas, Naman Ojha stood up once again with a blistering 95 runs and just missed out on his century. The Pathan brothers also fired with the bat to take the India Maharajas closer to the target. Captain Yusuf Pathan contributed 45 runs from just 22 deliveries and Irfan Pathan’s 56 from 21 balls took their side massively close to a victory. However, Brett Lee defended the total in the last over and took the World giants to a five-run victory. The player of the match was given to Herschelle Gibbs for his vital knock.
