Defense chiefs of U.S., China discuss Taiwan and South China Sea

미중 국방장관 통화…"위험한 행동 피하라" 신경전<br /><br />U.S. Defense Secretary Mark Esper has expressed concerns about Beijing's 'destabilizing' activities near Taiwan and in the South China Sea.<br />According to the Pentagon,... during a phone conservation with his Chinese counterpart Thursday, Esper said it was important China abides by international laws, rules and norms,... and meets its international commitments.<br />Esper also reiterated the importance of a constructive and stable relationship between the two sides.<br />However,.. China's Xinhua News Agency reported that his Chinese counterpart urged the U.S. side to "stop erroneous words and deeds",... and "avoid taking dangerous moves that may escalate the situation."<br />The call was the first between the two since March.<br /><br /><br /><br />
