China angered by Taiwan-US trade talks

China is criticizing a new trade initiative between the United States and Taiwan. Beijing says the new trade agreement is "dangerous." China doesn't recognize Taiwan as being an independent nation and considers the move a provocation. While the island nation has a democratically elected government, China has claimed Taiwan since a civil war led the communists to power on the mainland.
